In the heart of Ernakulam, Kerala, a sequence of consecutive detonations transpired, leading to the unfortunate demise of two individuals and inflicting injuries upon 52 others. To investigate this disconcerting incident, the National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) dispatched their teams to Kerala.

It is noteworthy that these events transpired on the concluding day of a three-day-long assembly of solemn prayers, which drew an assembly of nearly two thousand attendees. The detonations unfolded amidst this assembly, plunging the gathering into a state of turmoil and desolation.
During the early hours of Sunday in Ernakulam, Kerala, a violent explosion reverberated through a convention center. This tragic occurrence claimed the lives of at least two individuals and left numerous others with injuries. According to the Kalamesari police, this explosion transpired as a substantial gathering had convened for a prayer assembly at the convention center. The initial explosion unfolded at approximately 9 o'clock in the morning, followed by a succession of subsequent detonations within minutes.
Reports indicate that the NIA and NSG teams have been mobilized to Kerala for an exhaustive inquiry. Preliminary assessments have unveiled the utilization of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and authorities are actively pursuing their investigation.
Dr. Sheikh Darvesh, who serves as the Director-General of Police in Kerala, stated, "At around 9:40 AM this morning, a catastrophic explosion unfolded at the Zimara International Convention and Exhibition Center, leading to the tragic demise of two individuals, while 52 others are currently receiving medical attention. A regional assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses was underway at the convention center. Our senior officers are on-site, and our Additional DGP is en route. I will also imminently arrive at the scene. We are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the responsible parties and to take decisive action." He further elucidated that preliminary investigations have suggested the deployment of an IED, and an exhaustive examination is underway.
As per the Ernakulam Collector, a total of 52 individuals have incurred injuries in the incident. Among them, ten have suffered severe burns and have been admitted to Kalamesari Medical College for treatment. Two of the injured individuals have sustained burns exceeding 50%. Additionally, eight persons have been transferred to the general ward of the hospital, and eighteen are under observation in various medical facilities.
